If your team needs remote access to private office applications, we scope the connection around the applications they use. That is separate from getting started with the browser.

Island Desktop for installed business software
Island Desktop currently requires Island Enterprise Browser and works alongside it on Windows and macOS. It extends access and data controls to installed business software and the device.
For remote access to systems hosted on your business’s private network, such as practice-management software or file shares, we confirm the applications and connectivity your team needs. Desktop is month-to-month with no minimum; ask us for the scope and price.

Keep the browser your team already uses. Island Extension supports Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows and macOS, with data protection and access controls managed centrally.

Can Island replace a VPN for a small office?
Yes, for applications and resources covered by your access scope. Island works with existing Zero Trust access systems, or with Island Private Access, our separately priced add-on for private applications. VPN replacement is separate from zero-configuration initial browser onboarding.
How do I stop employees pasting client data into ChatGPT?
We manage browser policies for the clipboard, uploads, downloads and printing. Those policies control whether client data can leave a work application. Island AI Protect is a separately priced add-on for controls on data sent to AI tools.
Can staff reach an on-premises file share or practice software remotely without a VPN?
Yes, when the required private access is in scope. Island Desktop works alongside Island Enterprise Browser on Windows and macOS for native applications and on-premises resources; the browser supports RDP/SSH sessions.
