What happens when an alert fires. A security analyst reviews it around the clock and acts on it — remediating it, noting it in the console, or taking the device off the network to contain it. Containment is one of those three outcomes, not what happens every time.

That review happens within one business day. An alert overnight or at the weekend holds contained until the next business day; there is no out-of-hours line to call, and containment is doing its job in the meantime.

If phone-based risk is your concern, identity monitoring is the layer that helps: it watches the email and cloud accounts you sign into on your phone, so a stolen password still gets caught. We email you once the security operations team sees each device check in. From that point you only hear from us when something matters.

Cancelling
Cancel online, whenever you want.
There is no contract and no minimum term. Cancel yourself in the billing portal — no phone call, no notice period, no retention script. Service continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, then stops. Monthly plans renew each month and annual plans renew every twelve months, at the price shown on the card, until you cancel.

Threats are acted on, not just flagged
When something behaves like an attacker — ransomware, a malicious install, credential theft — the machine can be isolated from the network to contain it while an analyst investigates.
Programs nobody approved are blocked
On Windows Pro computers, software nobody approved, including the remote-control tools scammers talk people into installing, is blocked from running. It starts with a learning period of at least a week, and new software then waits for approval, which we give within one business day. Windows Home is not supported.
A real analyst reviews what happened
Every serious alert is looked at by a person, not closed by a script. If it is real, we act. If it is nothing, we clear it.

Questions before you buy
How is this different from Norton or McAfee?
Those are software products you install and then monitor yourself. Ridge Watch is professional-grade software plus a real security team watching it around the clock and responding when something happens. The software is only half of it — the other half is a human who acts when it matters.
Do I need to remove my existing antivirus?
Yes, if it is a third-party product like Norton, McAfee, or Bitdefender. Two real-time anti-malware agents on one machine fight over file access and slow the computer down.
The agent we deploy does the same signature-based detection those products do, plus the 24/7 monitoring they do not, so you lose no coverage.
Microsoft Defender is the exception: it detects our agent and automatically steps back into passive mode, so you keep it as a second layer at no extra cost.
Will it slow down my computer?
No. The agent uses under 50 MB of memory, has no kernel hooks, and is signed by Microsoft. You will not notice it running.
Can Ridge Watch stop a scammer's remote-access tool?
On Windows Pro computers, yes: programs nobody approved, including remote-control tools like the ones used in tech-support and refund scams, are blocked from running.
There is a learning period of at least a week first, and after that new software waits for approval, which we give within one business day.
Windows Home and Macs do not get blocking, and nothing on a computer can stop a phone call or a payment someone is talked into making.
What happens when something is detected?
The affected computer can be isolated from the network so the activity is contained, and the alert goes to a real security analyst who investigates what happened. If it is a genuine threat, we act and tell you what to do next.
If it turns out to be harmless, we clear it. You are not left reading cryptic alerts and guessing.
Can I add or remove devices later?
Yes. Email support@obsidianridge.io and we will move you to the plan that fits your new device count. There is no penalty for changing, and you are not locked into the number you started with.
My business handles patient or client data. Is Ridge Watch enough?
Probably not, and we would rather tell you that up front.
If you handle patient records under HIPAA, client funds or privileged files, or client financial data under the FTC Safeguards Rule, monitoring alone does not cover your obligations — you need identity monitoring, awareness training, and audit-ready evidence.
