We tell you when you don't need us — and we tell you how we're paid.

Every external recommendation we make goes through /go/<vendor> on obsidianridge.io. That gives us one place to disclose affiliate relationships, one place to update destinations when vendors change their URL formats, and one place to measure which recommendations actually help readers.

Right now the NordVPN link is not live as an affiliate. The comparison content we publish about NordVPNis identical to what we'd publish if no affiliate deal ever closes. That's the editorial bar — if a deal would change our honest recommendation, we walk away from the deal, not from the recommendation.
